Leadership
WMC is led by a team of individuals who are called from within the congregation to serve in bi-vocational or full-time positions. Their diverse experience and gifts bring a unique balance to the leadership team, which shares responsibility for preaching, teaching and administration. As they work together, the team demonstrates a spirit of unity which encourages unity within the congregation.

Leon Hurst, Senior Pastor
Leon was called in 1972 to serve in pastoral ministry at Weaverland, where he has attended since birth. Leon and his five siblings were born and raised on a local farm in the Weaverland Valley. In addition to serving the church, he is self-employed in a lifelong career of plastering and drywalling. Leon and his wife, Rosella, have four grown children and eight grandchildren. Leon enjoys photography, is an avid sports fan and collects baseball cards, stamps and coins. The family enjoys traveling and visiting their cabin in Pine Creek Valley.

Brian Martin, Lead Pastor
Brian has been serving on the pastoral team at WMC since 1997. In 2005 he transitioned from a bi-vocational role to full-time ministry after working in sales and marketing for 20 years. He notes that his marketplace experience has been helpful in bridging practical ministry with the challenges of everyday life. Brian’s heart and passion is connecting the local community with Jesus Christ through friendship evangelism. Brian and his wife, Shirley, are the parents of three daughters and one son. Enjoying the outdoors and hunting in Juniata County are traditions that involve the entire family. Brian also enjoys
bicycling and reading. |

C. Kenneth Martin, Bishop
Ken was ordained as a pastor at Weaverland in 1977. Since 1993 he has also served as bishop of the Weaverland/Northeast District of Lancaster Conference, which includes seven congregations and one house church. In the early years of his ministry Ken worked as a turkey farmer; today he dedicates full-time service to the Weaverland district and the Lancaster Mennonite Conference, where he serves in the finance department. Ken and his wife, Lois, are the parents of three adult children and enjoy spending time with their family. |

J. Nevin Martin, Deacon
Nevin has been serving on the pastoral team as a deacon since 1987, succeeding his father, deacon Erwin Martin. He has attended WMC his entire life. While Nevin dedicates his gifts to the caring ministry at WMC, he is also employed as a maintenance supervisor at a local concrete manufacturing company. Nevin and his wife, Ruthie, are the parents of one son. Together they enjoy gardening and vacationing in the mountains. As a hobby, Nevin and his son enjoy restoring antique John Deere tractors. |

Don Weaver, Associate Pastor
Don was called in 1995 to serve at Weaverland, his home church for all of his life. As a pastor Don has a passion to help others to find a sense of belonging and purpose at Weaverland, a place where people find hope in Jesus amidst a troubled world. He also manages a livestock consulting business. Don and his wife, Linda, enjoy spending time with their four young-adult children, as well as camping and traveling together, especially to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. |

Earl Weaver, Associate Pastor
Earl was called in 1988 to serve at Weaverland, where he has attended most of his life. In addition to serving as a pastor, Earl manages a grain business, where he finds the opportunity to share his passion that everyone will know Christ as their personal Savior. Earl and his wife, Marilyn, have four grown children and six grandchildren. Earl enjoys hunting in Pennsylvania and in Colorado, where their son lives. Together Earl and Marilyn enjoy gardening and vacationing in the mountains of Juniata County. |

Drew Metcalf, Youth Pastor
Drew serves as the youth pastor at Weaverland. Drew and his wife, Cindy, both love working with teenagers and together they have a passion to see young people boldly living out their faith in Jesus. Along with prior experience counseling youth, Drew has a master’s degree from Wheaton College and an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University. The couple has one son, Isaiah. |
