Vision and purpose
Our purpose
Our purpose as a congregation and as individuals is to worship God the Father through Jesus the Son, living our lives to know Him and make Him known.
Our vision
Our vision is to be the body of Christ.
We represent many gifts, ages, vocations, ideas, and pilgrimages – like a patchwork quilt whose beauty is found in the inclusion of many fabrics – and are sewn together with the common thread of believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, honoring the Bible as the inspired word of God, and receiving the Holy Spirit as our enabler and facilitator.
We are a family – God’s family – adopted as His sons and daughters that we may worship Him. In accepting His gift of love, that is, the forgiveness of sin through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God’s son, we are motivated to nurture and minister to the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of our brothers and sisters. As we journey toward wholeness, being transformed into the likeness of Christ, we reflect His light and become luminaries of Christ, drawing those who are stranded in the surrounding darkness into the family of God that they too may be adopted as our brothers and sisters.
“We are a unit made up of many parts, and though our parts are many, we form one body and each one of us is a part of it” (based on 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27)
