What to expect:
When you arrive you will be warmly greeted at the door by our hospitality staff who will offer you a program. If you’re a guest, the welcome center staff will help you find your way and answer any questions.
Each Sunday we offer two identical worship services to accommodate our attendance growth. Our early service begins at 8:00 a.m. and is followed by an informal time of social interaction and coffee break from 9:15 - 9:30. We gather for Sunday School at 9:30 in age specific groups from kindergarten through adult for biblical teaching and discussion. Sunday School is followed by 15 minutes of fellowship and our second service begins at 10:30 and dismisses at 11:45.
A typical service begins with scripture reading, singing and prayer. We are a congregation that appreciates diversity in worship, so we have a blend of music that includes both classic hymns and contemporary praise and worship. During this time we also share congregational announcements as well as receive an offering.
Following this we have a pastoral intercessory prayer, which includes specific praises and requests relating to our congregation, community and world. A sermon relevant to our faith walk follows the intercessory prayer. We conclude our service with a blessing to go and to live daily as a disciple of Jesus.
Sunday school – Kindergarten thru Adult
Nursery - Kindergarten (age 2-5)
Our teachers strive to provide a warm, secure atmosphere where each child has the opportunity to understand and experience the love of Jesus.
Grades 1-8
Students in grades 1-8 meet in age-appropriate groups which are created based on grade in school and class size. Teachers use a purchased curriculum to guide their instruction. When a student completes third grade, they receive a personal Bible.
We offer a Bible Memory program in which students have three months to memorize an assigned passage. A small reward is given for each passage memorized. Students who memorize all four passages receive an additional reward at the end of the year.
Every third year grades three, four and five participate in ‘The Armor of God’ based on Ephesians 6:10-18. The students are encouraged to memorize this passage and learn new songs that pertain to it. Each week, an adult shares his or her testimony, which is a highlight for the children.
Youth
Grades 9-12 meet as a group during Sunday school where they study a combination of the International Sunday School Lesson and electives relevant to the lives and needs of today’s youth.
Adult
The young adult thru adult classes consist of singles and couples loosely grouped by age from post high school thru retirement. A Sunday school curriculum is used by teachers to guide instruction and discussion. Most of the classes plan social activities outside of class time to strengthen their friendships.
